Yeovil Hospital Charity

Donating to the hospital

Many of our patients and their families donate to the hospital, through our registered charity (1057580). The hospital has benefited considerably over the years from members of the community who have made donations, organised fundraising events and left gifts in their will. The funds are used to improve the hospital’s facilities and enhance the services we offer to patients and their families.

There are many ways that you can donate to Yeovil District Hospital. If you are a UK tax payer you can use the downloadable gift aid form (below) which allows us to increase your donation by claiming a refund of tax you have already paid on your income. For every £1 donated we can claim Gift Aid tax relief of 25p.

By Cheque

Cheques should be payable to Yeovil District Hospital. All donations we receive are used to improve our facilities and services here at Yeovil. We would prefer to use your donation where it is most needed, but if you wish, you can include a note specifying where you would most like your donation to be used. We are also running an appeal at the moment so if you would like to find out more, please click here.

If you are visiting or you are a patient and you wish to make a donation you can do so at Main Reception or the General Office. You will be given a receipt to acknowledge your gift. If you would like to talk to someone about making a donation, please contact the Fundraising Department on 01935 383020.

A gift in your will

A bequest enables you to make a planned gift to a charity that you care about. Charitable legacies are paid before tax is deducted, therefore reducing the amount of tax liability on your estate. A bequest in your will can take the form of:

  • A residuary bequest – this is the residue of the estate once the family and loved ones have been provided for the remainder or a proportion of the estate is pledged to one or more charities
  • A pecuniary bequest – this is a specific sum of money pledged to the charity

In memory giving

A donation to the hospital could be given in memory of a loved one instead of flowers at a funeral. These donations could be sent direct to the hospital or given through the funeral directors. You could also create an In Memory page with www.justgiving.com.

The hospital charity is registered with the Charity Commission under the umbrella of Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Funds and the registration number is 1057580.
