Meet our expert shoulder consultants and surgeons
Mr Oliver Donaldson, Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon
Training: I qualified from University of Bristol in 2002 and completed higher surgical training in Wales before fulfilling a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery in Liverpool. I was appointed as a Consultant with a subspecialty interest in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in January 2014.
My interests are in all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery including joint replacement and arthroscopic reconstructive surgery for rotator cuff problems and shoulder instability. I have a strong interest in shoulder instability and am lead author on the British Elbow and Shoulder Society’s evidence and consensus based guidelines on traumatic anterior shoulder instability.

Training: Middlesex Hospital, 1976, Senior Registrar in Kings Rotation, Sabbatical in Sydney, 1990, including upper limb surgery, sports injuries and foot and ankle surgery.
Specialises in shoulder and upper limb surgery, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacements, sports injuries and foot surgery.
Developed arthroscopic procedures of the knee, shoulder, wrist, elbow and ankle, introduced the upper limb clinic at YDH in 1996, introduced uncemented hip replacements in Yeovil in 1997, Honorary Surgeon to Yeovil Town Football Club.
