For most services when you and your GP agree that you need an appointment it will be booked through the national Choose and Book service. This telephone and internet service will tell you which hospitals or clinics are available for your treatment. If the service is available at South Petherton then this will automatically be indicated as one of the choices. You can then choose the date and time of your appointment.

Choose and Book allows you to fit your treatment in with your commitments, choose appointments that fit with your carer’s schedule, check the status of your referral and enables you to change or cancel your appointments easily over the phone or on the internet. Your GP practice will explain how to access the Choose and Book service when you are referred. In some circumstances, your GP practice will help you make your appointment.

General X-ray and ultrasound services are accessed via your GP. Both telephone appointments and a walk-in service are available.
