With Autumn well and truly here Yeovil Hospital is celebrating this colourful season with a selection of Will Glenn’s stunning photographs in our Outpatient’s Gallery.
Will has been taking photos for nearly 60 years, starting when he first won a Kodak Brownie 127, at a Christmas fare treasure hunt. He was also lucky enough to win a Pentax T30, in a competition in BBC Wildlife magazine. This set him firmly on a route capturing nature in and around Glastonbury.
For his current exhibition, Will has photographed Autumn leaves floating on the moat that surrounds the Bishop’s Palace in Wells. Speaking about his work, Will said: “No human hand created these designs, it’s all down to Mother Nature, the grand designer/artist, whose palette knows no bounds when it comes to colour and shade. All I did was to see it and take the shot. It really is true ephemeral art. Here one minute gone the next, and in some cases, here one second gone the next.”
Yeovil Hospital Arts Co-ordinator Caroline Barnes added: “The images are incredibly crisp and colourful illustrating the rich reds, oranges and browns we associated with the season, but what makes these images so special is the dark, almost black contrast of the water.”
Will’s pictures are displayed in our Outpatients Gallery until December 2017. All the pictures are framed and available to purchase with a percentage of sales being donated back to Yeovil Hospital Charity.
