Limited parking is available at our Hospital, and we would advise the use of nearby, ‘pay & display’ public car parks at Goldcroft, Huish and South Street East Car Park.

Car parking
Yeovil Hospital has two visitor car parks. Please follow signage on site to get to these.
From Thursday, 26 March, both visitor car parks (P1 and P2) will operate a pay and display system. This will require visitors to pay for their parking on arrival and display a ticket within their vehicle. Payment can be made at the machine by cash or card.
The charges are:
Up to 30 minutes £1
Up to 1 hour £2
Up to 2 hours £4
Up to 3 hours £5
Up to 4 hours £6
Up to 5 hours £7
Over 5 hours £12
Concessions
Some patients and visitors are eligible for exemption from parking charges. These include, but are not limited to, parents of children staying on Ward 10; visitors to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or the Coronary Care Unit (CCU); patients receiving treatment for cancer; relatives visiting for prolonged periods those in end of life care; urgent patients/visitors to maternity.
To find out more, please speak with staff in the ward/department and ask for a concession form.
Disabled parking
There are spaces for disabled parking outside the front of the hospital and outside the Women’s Health and Maternity Unit. Drop off facilities are additionally available outside the Women’s Health and Maternity Unit, Queensway Day Centre, main entrance and outpatients’ entrance.
Disabled (blue) badge holders are exempt from parking charges if parking in these areas but must register the vehicle in which they intend to travel. Blue badges must be brought to main reception when registering your vehicle to qualify for the exemption.
There are spaces To register either:
• call ParkingEye on 0844 247 2984, Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm, or
• give your details at the hospital’s main reception on the day of your visit.
You must register your vehicle before or on the day of your visit to hospital and you must display your disabled badge in the windscreen of your vehicle as normal. You only need to register your blue badge once a year.
If you are parking in car park 1 or car park 2 please just display your badge, there is no need to register your badge to park in these areas.

Car Parking Policy
Help with travel costs
You may be able to get help with travel costs to receive NHS treatment if you:
- are receiving or your partner receives income support, income-based job seekers allowance (incapacity benefit or disability living allowance do not count as they are not income related), pension credit guarantee credit;
- are entitled to, or named on, a valid NHS tax-exception certificate;
- are named on a valid HC2 certificate (includes travel by your dependant children);
- are a war pensioner and the treatment is for your accepted disablement;
- are named on a valid HC3 certificate.
Please note that the hospital is not able to reimburse costs for taxi fares; the above reimbursements can be sought for public transport (i.e. buses).

How to get to us by road
From the South
Via A37 Dorchester Road – at Quicksilver Roundabout, bear right downhill. At the next roundabout continue straight across in Queensway dual carriageway. At the next roundabout continue straight across into Reckleford. Take the first turning left into Higher Kingston. The main car park is the second turning on the left (pay on exit).
Via A3088 Taunton, South Petherton - Leave the A303 at the Cartgate roundabout and follow the Cartgate road (approximately six miles) to the roundabout. Take the first exit. At the mini roundabout go straight across to the next roundabout (Crematorium on left). Take the third exit into Preston Road and continue to the next roundabout. Take the third exit into Higher Kingston and the first turning left into Higher Kingston. The main car park is the second turning on the left (pay on exit).
From the North
Via A303 and A37 - Leave the Ilchester bypass at the Yeovil Junction and continue on the A37 to the ‘Welcome to Yeovil’ signs. Continue down the hill, past Yeovil College (on the left) to the roundabout. Take the second exit into the Kingston dual carriageway. At the next roundabout take the first exit and then the first turning left into Higher Kingston.
How to get to us by train
Yeovil is served by two Railway Stations.
Yeovil Pen Mill – trains from Weymouth, Dorchester, Castle Cary, Westbury, Bath and Bristol – approximately 1.5 miles from the Hospital. Bus service links to Yeovil Bus Station with a connection to Yeovil hospital. A taxi service is available.
Yeovil Junction – trains from Exeter, Crewkerne, Sherborne, Salisbury and London Waterloo. Approximately 3 miles from the Hospital. Bus service links to Yeovil Bus Station with connections to Yeovil Hospital. A taxi service is available.
How to get to us on the bus
First Bus Route 1 calls outside the hospital at 15-minute intervals for most of the day. Route 1 serves Yeovil east to west (Cavalier Way to Abbey Manor Park via the town centre). This service connects with other town and local services at Yeovil Bus Station. The bus station is only five minutes’ walk from the hospital along Reckleford. Don’t forget that people aged 60 or over are entitled to free bus passes which cover all or most of the journey to Yeovil District Hospital by major bus routes, depending on where you live. For full details contact your local council.
How to get to us by Nippy bus
This is a flexible bus service which can be booked by individual passengers in advance in the South Somerset area. The modern fleet of vehicles are comprehensively equipped including wheelchair lifts, constant running CCTV recording, digital radio communications and satellite navigation.
Booking lines are open from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Lines are closed Sundays and Bank Holiday.
