Supporting patients & visitors with a disability

Yeovil District Hospital is committed to ensuring all patients and visitors receive the same excellent level of service and treatment.

If you are due to attend our Hospital, as a patient or a visitor, and have any kind of disability, please let us know either in advance or speak to a member of staff when you arrive and we will do out utmost to accommodate your needs.

All wards have notices which alert staff that you have a visual impairment. If you would like to have one by your bed please ask. This will help staff, particularly those serving meals and refreshments.

Please tell staff if you have hearing difficulties and they will do all they can to assist you and can arrange for an interpreter if necessary.

If you have support equipment you would like to bring into hospital with you please arrange it with the ward staff. All items should be clearly and securely labelled. Electrical equipment must be checked by our Facilities Department before being used if it is not brand new.
