Yeovil Hospital is inviting student nurses qualifying in 2016 to attend a free open day to find out more about working at a district general hospital.

The open day, on Monday 18 January, will offer students a chance to find out more about vacancies at the hospital, the local area, and preceptorship and support in practice. It will run between 9.30am and 4.30pm and will include first-hand advice from Director of Nursing, Helen Ryan, as well as a tour of the hospital.

Helen Ryan, Director of Nursing, said: “It’s an exciting time to join our dedicated and award-winning nursing team.

“Nursing is at the heart of our hospital and we are always looking for compassionate, skilled nurses to join us. We’re a pioneering organisation that is already making recognisable changes to the way healthcare is delivered.

“We are immensely proud of having been chosen as a Vanguard site by NHS England, meaning that we are among 52 projects in the country which are leading the way in the development of a more effective, more collaborative, and more patient-centred NHS.

“This open day is a great chance to come and have a tour of the hospital, meet some of our staff and find out more about working here, as well as how to apply for a nursing post. Having worked here for many years, I’m committed to doing all I can to make Yeovil Hospital the very best employer for new or experienced nurses, whether from the UK or abroad.”
