As a newly qualified nurse, during your preceptorship you will have access to a named individual (mentor) who will be your designated point of contact.

Your mentor will guide you from the role of a student to the role of registered nurse. They do this by supporting you to develop the necessary knowledge and skills required in specific healthcare fields. We achieve this by providing a formal programme of Preceptorship. This begins with Pre-Registration Study Days, designed to help you familiarise yourself with our hospital before commencing the formal Preceptorship programme on receipt of your NMC registration. The Preceptoship scheme is open to nurses who are qualifying and you don’t necessarily need to already have your pin.

We are looking for people with exceptional professional skills, who have a passion for high-quality patient care and a keen focus on positive patient experience. In these roles you will be assessing, planning, delivering and implementing a high standard of nursing care whilst responding to individual patient needs. For success in your application, you will be able to demonstrate good clinical practice. You will be accountable for your own actions, promoting a good working ethos, and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff at all times. In return we will develop you to reach your full potential, supporting you to progress your career
