Patients visiting Yeovil Hospital’s outpatients’ department from this week will be greeted by stunning landscapes from Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, thanks to a new exhibition by Dorset artist Sam Rose.
The ‘Locally Sourced’ exhibition features a series of striking photographs of the World Heritage coast from Portland to West Bay, and will adorn the department until the end of March.
Photographer Sam, who is part of the Jurassic Coast management team, is delighted to have the opportunity to share his work with visitors to the hospital: “This is a wonderful chance for me to share my love of photography with local people and feature some inspiring images of West Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. I am always looking for that magical combination of view and light and we are lucky enough to have many fabulous views on our doorstep. I hope that visitors enjoy the photographs as much as I have.”
Caroline Barnes, who co-ordinates art around the hospital, said of the latest exhibit: “Every day hundreds of patients, staff and visitors pass through the gallery and often comment on the changing exhibition programme, which is part of our commitment to improving and enhancing the hospital environment for everyone here. All kinds of art feature in our gallery, and anyone interested in exhibiting at the hospital can get in touch with me by email on Caroline.Barnes@ydh.nhs.uk.”
