Christmas day is slowly creeping upon us but as with everything this year we are all looking at a different experience to the ones we are used to, including the children in our hospital.

During this time of year, Yeovil Hospital Charity is usually overwhelmed by the gifts and donations they receive to support the patients on the Children’s Ward. After all, no one wants to be in hospital over Christmas.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Christmas has to be done a little differently to normal. Donations of the usual gifts and treats are sadly unable to be accepted for the wards. However Yeovil Hospital Charity has been working hard to enable the Children to still receive their Christmas gifts in the run up to Christmas and on Christmas Day.

The nurses have put together a wish list of gifts that they would like to purchase for their patients, along with items that they would like to get for the ward to make a difference all year-round.

Head of Fundraising James Kirton said: “We are always so grateful to the community for their incredible support that they show our youngest patients at Christmas. Unfortunately because of COVID-19 things will be different, however we know we are going to make this Christmas the best it can be.

So if you were thinking of sending gifts to the Children’s Ward, please consider making a donation instead, so that we can buy the gifts on our wish list”.

Help us to make a difference for these patients by donating online at www.justgiving.com/campaign/childrens-ward-christmas2020”.
