To apply for one of the vacant volunteer roles please click here. If you would prefer a printed copy of the form click here and then please email [email protected] and return it back to Volunteers, Yeovil Hospital, Higher Kingston, Yeovil, Somerset BA21 4AT.

What happens next

Once the application has been received, you will be invited to attend an interview (currently happening over a digital platform), with one of the volunteer co-ordinators and a member of staff from the area you are applying for. If successful you will be asked to complete a DBS, Occupational Health Screening form and a COVID risk assessment within your new area.

Training

Currently the training is taking place on a digital platform. You will be sent a link to some training videos which you will need to watch before you begin volunteering at the trust. When restrictions allow, training will also be available in person. It will take place over half a day.

You will also receive training within the area you are volunteering, including 3 buddy sessions, where you work with another volunteer or staff member to learn the role.
